In the heart of the Vosges Massif, at an altitude of 727m, the Donon pass is a mythical place. It is the most northern major summit of the Vosges Massif. Located in Alsace, within the boundaries of the Lorraine, it is rich with the human history of several millennia.

The Donon offers an exceptional viewpoint in all directions; it has been used since the Neolithic era. In Celtic times, then Gallo-Roman, several cults were celebrated successively: Teutates, Mercury ...It’s name comes from the Celtic word «dunum» which means both mountain and fortress.
